  • Port Captaincy: Coordination of loading and discharge operations.
  • Cargo intake maximizing survey: We assist Master/Chief Officer during loading in order to supervise cargo intake to comply with maximum sailing Draft from loading ports, Draft limitations on arriving at a discharge ports. Pre-determination of maximum loadable quantity of cargo in Bulk Carriers basis IMO Regulations.
  • Bunker Survey: Measurements and calculation of bunker quantity on board in connection with Charter delivery/re-delivery.
  • Damage Surveys: Damages to vessels, machinery and cargo are surveyed on behalf of owners, receivers and underwriters.
  • Draught Survey: Carried out to determine the actual weight of the cargo Loaded/Discharged.
  • Cargo Hold / Tank Cleaning: Advising on and assisting in cleaning of cargo holds/tanks on bulk carriers and tankers. Issuance of Certificate of Readiness for loading.
  • On-off hire surveys: Vessel is surveyed before commencing a charter period and damages / discrepancies are valuated.
  • Insurance (Loss Prevention) Survey: Surveys on behalf of P&I Clubs and Hull & Machinery Underwriters.
  • Ultrasonically testing hatch cover/hold appurtenances.
  • Lashing of Project Cargo: Survey of lashing arrangements for project cargoes. Calculations and supervision as required by customer.
  • Pre-purchase inspections of Bulk Carriers and oil/Chemical tankers.
  • Pre-PSC Inspection: Inspection of vessel to ascertain that statutory rules and regulations are complied with, helping identify issues thus reducing the risk of detention during a Port State Control inspection.
  • Tank calibration: Accurately determining the volume in a confined vessel at various stages.
  • Accident Investigation: Investigation of accidents to vessels and personnel on behalf of vessel owners and underwriters in order to ascertain probable cause.
  • Engine performance evaluation.
  • Towage approval and towage calculation: Check hull/condition of Tug and Barge. Check towing lines and arrangement (Size, spare, main tow line, pennant, chaffing chain, towing hook, winch, shackle etc.) Check validity of Trading Certificates (Registry, International Tonnage, Class, Safety Construction, Safety Equipment, Safety Radio, SMC). Verify bunker and fresh water ROB, speed and distance. Check general condition of machinery/engine.
  • Technical advice to shipping companies.
  • Outturn cargo condition surveys: Particularly during discharge and loading of steel products. Prior to discharge, upon initial opening-up of the vessel’s hatches in port, we inspect the condition and stowage of the cargo in the holds, with special attention to possible salt water and shifting damage.
    • In case damaged cargo is ascertained during our outturn survey, we are able to follow up the consequent survey regarding the cause and extent of the damage on behalf of the P&I Club involved.
    • Regarding our preloading surveys: during and prior to loading we advise the master about our findings with regard to the condition of the cargo, and subsequently assist him to endorse the governing Mate’s Receipts and/or Bills of lading.
